Lowless

LOW for the low frequencies. LESS for the minimal. And the word itself means the opposite of its two halves: you go down to go up.

The bass and the bareness are not the destination, they are the means. What we are after is the state — floating, and open enough that you can go a long way into it. Less matter, more space to move in.

It explains the rest: why the covers put one single phenomenon in empty space, why the runs are short, why the catalogue turns down generic tech-house.

What we look for

Not a record that sounds like Lowless. Someone sending a demo should not listen to the catalogue to get closer to it — we are looking for an opening, not one more turn in the same groove. What we want is their signature: a sound you can recognise in thirty seconds.

How we work

42 releases since 2016, 17 of them pressed on vinyl, and 32 artists. Runs of 200 copies, sometimes 30, 25 or 15. No repress. When a run is gone, it is gone.

Ambient, techno, IDM. No generic tech-house, no radio-friendly progressive, no big room.
